Plus-Plus Isoscapes: Cabin
Plus-Plus Isoscapes challenges teens to build detailed three-dimensional landscapes while strengthening spatial reasoning, problem-solving skills, and design thinking. Centered around a woodland cabin scene, this unique construction set combines architecture, engineering, and creativity in a format that's both structured and open-ended.
The kit includes a reusable BOKS (that's Danish for "box") storage container, a durable baseplate, building pieces, and instructions for creating a cabin nestled among trees. Once your teen masters the included design, additional projects are available through a QR code, providing even more opportunities to experiment with the Isoscapes building system.
Unlike traditional building sets that focus on vehicles or simple structures, Isoscapes encourages teens to think about entire environments. As they design landscapes, arrange natural features, and construct buildings, they're developing visual-spatial skills while learning how individual elements work together to create a cohesive scene.
The included baseplate serves as both a sturdy foundation and a display frame, making finished projects feel more like miniature works of art than temporary builds. Many teens begin by following the instructions, but soon start modifying designs, adding details, and creating entirely original landscapes.
With its combination of guided building and creative freedom, Plus-Plus Isoscapes provides an engaging way to explore architecture, design, and problem-solving without screens, batteries, or complicated setup.
How to Use Plus-Plus Isoscapes Cabin
- Begin by unpacking the BOKS and using the lid as the foundation for the build. The compact design keeps all the pieces organized while providing a sturdy base for construction and display.
- Set aside 15–30 minutes at a time for building. Some teens will prefer to complete the cabin in a few longer sessions, while others enjoy gradually adding sections over several weeks.
- Start by following the included instructions to build the woodland cabin scene. As your teen works through the design, he'll become familiar with the building techniques used throughout the Isoscapes system.
- Once the original model is complete, encourage experimentation. Rearrange trees, modify the landscape, expand the cabin, or create entirely new environments using the same pieces. The transition from following instructions to adapting a design is where much of the creative problem-solving happens.
- Additional building ideas are available through the included QR code, providing new challenges and inspiration when your teen is ready for the next project.
Many teens return to Isoscapes long after the initial build is finished. The display-worthy designs make it satisfying to revisit, refine, and redesign over time.

Fun to build
Steph H.
My son couldn't resist building this before school officially started. He has taken it apart and rebuilt it since. It is a fun and relaxing "brain break" from school to enjoy. It was challenging without being impossible or frustrating. Great addition to the kit!

Our son couldn’t wait to finish it!
Vivienne M.
Our 15 year old loves and always has loved stem projects, particularly puzzles, building, engineering tech that challenges him to get to a finished project. This piece was finished in under a day. He couldn’t even wait and was so proud of himself when he finished. Wonder if he can take it apart just a fast.
